FREE WEEK 2012

Words and pictures by Anonymous Pyrates #001 & #002

HIPSTERECTOMY
A relentless assault of classic Hardcore in the vein of Poison Idea. Unlike many similar throwback acts, they still maintain solid musicianship and fluent originality.
Latest release : Hipsterectomy S/T EP out on Bear Bones Records

CRONIS
Combining elements of thrash and sludge metal, Croins pumps out atmospheric Hardcore without sacrificing brutality. Dual vocals is always intriguing and we look forward to seeing what becomes of this new Austin act.
Cronis EP out soon

SIDE EFFECTS
Side Effects plowed through their set of crusty street punk with out taking prisoners. Both their live set and their "Lessons in Fear" album effectively capture the spirt of modern California Hardcore.
Latest release: Lessons in Fear LP out on Slambo Rat Records

D-COI
D-COI fuses elements of old school California punk with the best and meanest of modern street punk. Odd timing, unpredictable stops and frequent key changes set D-COI apart, not to mention every members rowdy stage presence. This band knows how to put on a show.
Latest release : When History Repeats out on Slambo Rat Records

NIGHT SIEGE
Night Siege is a prime example of what Hardcore punk has evolved into. Their furious D-Beat and ferocious breakdowns coupled with melodic leads and high energy performance never disappoints.
Latest release : Power of Death LP out on Nation on Fire Records

GALL

Houston's GALL represented the crust power trio about as accuraty as it gets. Blistering D-Beat combined with duel male/female vocals is never a bad combination.

BOMRAW

The Second Houston act BOMRAW, tore up the show with their fueled up D-Beat. Their front-man's performance reminded the crowed why they go to punks shows.
Demo out soon

GUIDE

Splicing together elements of fast-core acts like Trash Talk and Ceremony with classic crust, Nashville's GUIDE punished the crowd with an unrelenting force of blast beats and breakdowns. This is what crust should sound like.
Latest release : West Coast Tour Tape Winter 2011

DEADLY REIGN

My face was literally melting. Temple of doom style. Austin's own DEADLY REIGN always brings the pain with their brutal D-Beat onslaught. Most evil band in Austin right now.
Latest release : No End in Sight LP out on Corruption Records

Thank you to Ray and Legendary White Swan for having us! It was an amazing weekend. Thanks to all the bands that played and thanks to everyone that came out to support. Video edit of both days will be posted soon!
